How Delhi holidays apply at work
01
Compulsory public holidays
The 9 gazetted holidays are paid days off. Offices and banks stay closed. National days (Republic, Independence, Gandhi Jayanti) are mandatory everywhere.
02
Two restricted holidays
A Delhi employee may avail any two restricted holidays per year by choice. Record the chosen day in your leave system to keep attendance clean.
03
Shops & Establishments rule
Private employers grant paid public holidays per the Delhi Shops and Establishments Act and policy. Typical practice is 10 to 14 paid holidays plus weekly offs.
04
NCR cross-border note
Staff working in Noida (UP) or Gurugram (Haryana) follow those state calendars, not Delhi. Apply holidays by the employee work location.
